As a performer, I work in all sorts of places, and never really know what it’s going to be like until I show up. Recently I was performing at a Women’s shelter for a group of Moms and their youngsters: ages ranging from infant to 2 to 3 to 17. Yep. It’s all in a lump. The challenge was that one of the Moms was in charge of making the Kool Aid that evening for dinner, and she told me (afterwards) that she put extra sugar in.
Those kids were bouncing off the walls, floor and ceiling!
I hit them with The Three Little Pigs. Interestingly enough, these youngsters hadn’t heard the story before! The trick with a story like this is that it’s 100% interactive and by the end, they all know the story.

This version was recorded at the preschool in the The Hattie B Cooper Community Center in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. It’s crazy and chaotic. You’ll here plenty of interruptions and modifications that get inserted on the fly.
If you want the award-winning studio version (which is easier to listen to more than once) then it’s on the album Classic Stories for Boys and Girls on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play. You can also buy the album at CD Baby.
