On Saturday, July 23, 2016, I had the privilege of sharing stories from “It Ate My Sister” at a fringe performance at the National Storytelling Network Conference. Just before the program began, a new NSN member asked, “Can you teach me how to sing?” Which was kind of an odd question. I sputtered and stuttered for a moment, and then I remembered a story I’d written about just that challenge.
Now, one of the things I love about storytelling is its ability to be flexible and responsive. I don’t have a script or an agenda. The goal is to tell stories and transmit joy.
So, I changed the set list.
